we live in scary times. when weapons are amazingly advanced but our capacity for humanity is not. when will the power mongerers learn that violence begets violence. when all of the people who matter are dead and only a handful are left to hate and carry on, what do they think will happen?
i weep for the people trapped by the agression. i am astounded by their hope, faith and ability to be forgiving and rational.
i weep for us. does bush actually think (i suppose i could just stop my question there) that by allowing israel to go on a rampage that there will be no backlash against the u.s.?
is the UN really so cowed by us that it choses to ignore the threat that the oil spill poses to all of the mediteranean countries, a spill caused by israel's crazy targeting? and instead of demanding a ceasfire, so that containment and clean up can begin, they just let the u.s. veto every positive step?
can the world really be so callow as to think that all of the dead children on sunday deserved to die because hezbollah kidnapped two israeli soldiers? really? REALLY?
i feel like my rambling can go on ceaselessly and that all i get for my troubles is a deep heart ache and a terrible sense of futility.
it's crazy.
