spent the weekend in Las Vegas. not normally my favorite place, but this weekend was something special - the B-52s and Blondie at Mandalay Bay! this here is a picture i took of the pinks - Christopher and Kelly who dressed up special for Fred, Kate and Cindy

i'm not usually prone to scatological humors but my friend christy started it by saying she'd rather see 'kittens farting rainbows' - that was a challenge i couldn't resist, so i created this little gem - then upon posting, my friend adam said he prefers 'unicorns farting flowers' so once again, i got to work. my cousin threw out 'pegasus farting ice cream cones' but i decided i was done with farting animals.

i watch a lot of movies. mostly i stream or netflix them because so often paying $13 for the pleasure in the theater leaves me feeling a bit cheated...so many movies these days don't seem to live up to my expectations. however, last week i went to see prince of persia for a second time because it was so very very entertaining! a swashbuckler errol flynn would approve of. the parkour was especially well done (not surprising since david bell was involved), and i fell just a little bit in love with jake gyllenhaal...taylor lautner who?

mother's day is very hard for me. i suppose, because it is still kind of fresh...mom has only been gone for a year and a few months. i miss her. i made this little collage to send to her friends when she passed away (ovarian cancer, age 58).

this week i seem to be obsessed with textures in nature...

anytime i feel like i am taking my health, creativity, life for granted, i remind myself of the amazing frida kahlo. she painted from her bed when she was too ill to get out of it. if i am having a whingy day, the least i can do is work from my bed!

watched endless summer last night - i really need to learn to surf!
